As it was reported, Pavel Pashayev, the player of Azerbaijani origin, the defender of the club "Metallurg" (Zaporozhye, Ukraine), appealed AFFA to the desire to play for Azerbaijan national team. In this regard, in response to an appeal from the AFFA Football Federation of Ukraine said that the player was in the squad of the country's youth teams and never played for the A-team.
AFFA has sent an appeal to FIFA, with a resolution of Azerbaijani player to play for Azerbaijan, according to relevant regulations. FIFA has already responded to this appeal.
In a letter from the FIFA Players' Status Committee indicates to ensure AFFA’s and Pavel Pashayev’s request to change the Association and the player is eligible to play for Azerbaijan national team, starting from receipt of the decision.
