AFFA Licensing Commission held a meeting today. The meeting reviewed the documents of clubs that applied to participate in UEFA club tournaments and the Azerbaijan Premier League in the 2020-2021 season were reviewed in the meeting.

A meeting of the Licensing Commission was held
After discussions based on Article 8 of the Rules for Licensing Clubs (Issued in 2019), the AFFA Licensing Commission decided the followings:

1. To issue licenses to the following clubs to participate in UEFA club competitions:
"Garabagh" FC, "Gabala" FC, "Neftchi" PFC, "Sumgayit" FC, "Zira" PFC, "Sabail" PFC, "Keshla" FC, "Sabah" FC.
2. The following clubs should not be licensed to participate in Premier League competitions:
“Kapaz” PFC, “Agsu” FC, “Turan Tovuz” PFC, “Garadagh-Lokbatan” FC, “Zagatala” FC.

The license claimant may file an appeal with the AFFA Licensing Appeals Committee within 10 days from the date of the notice of denial of the license.
Note:
1. Note: According to the requirements set out in UEFA's Club Licensing and Financial "Fair Play" Rules, clubs participating in UEFA club competitions must obtain the appropriate license. To obtain a UEFA license, clubs must meet all the mandatory criteria set out in the rules. One of the rules is called the "3-year membership rule". According to this rule, the license claimant must operate for at least 3 consecutive years at the beginning of the licensing season and participate in internal competitions.  As it is known, "Sabah" FC participates in the Premier League and AFFA has appealed to UEFA to apply an exclusive procedure for "Sabah" FC following the requirements of UEFA's Club Licensing and Financial "Fair Play" rules. UEFA started the process of reviewing the appeal and demanded that both AFFA and "Sabah" FC collect the relevant documents and submit them to UEFA on time. UEFA said it was positive after checking the submitted documents and a decision regarding this was made.

Note-2:
1. Under Article 13 of the Rules for Licensing of Azerbaijan Football Clubs to participate in UEFA Club Competitions (Issued in 2019), clubs licensed to participate in UEFA club competitions in the 2020-2021 season are automatically considered licensed to participate in the Azerbaijan Premier League for the same season.
