One of the main activities of AFFA is to combat the manipulation of results in football competitions. The football community is regularly educated in this area and football subjects suspected of involvement in negative actions are punished.
The Match Fixing threatens the principle of inviolability of the competitions and undermines the values of the sport. AFFA's disciplinary rules regarding the inviolability of the competition are clear. In addition, AFFA has long been cooperating with local clubs in the fight against football manipulation.
As it is known, there have been appointed Match Fixing Responsible Persons in clubs as Level A Criteria in the rules of licensing of Azerbaijan football clubs to participate in Azerbaijan Football Premier League and UEFA club competitions.
Today at AFFA Headquarters there was organized a seminar for Match Fixing Responsible Persons from Premier League and First Division clubs to raise their awareness.
UEFA Match Fixing Representative for Azerbaijan Seymur Salimli gave a lecture on the topics "What do we need to know about Match Fixing?" and "Our goal is to protect you and our football" and made educational and reporting presentations. During the seminar, they discussed important issues in the fight against Match Fixing, exchanged experiences, and conducted tests based on the provided information and presentations.
The participants of the seminar were informed about the Convention on the Manipulation of Sports Competitions, a number of amendments to the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan on Physical Culture and Sports, as well as amendments to the Disciplinary Code of the Disciplinary Committee. At the end of the seminar, participants were awarded certificates.
