The winners for the Winners of the Year 2021 Project of the Sports Research Center are named.
According to a poll conducted among journalists, EURO 2020 (three group stage matches and one quarter-finals at Baku Olympic Stadium) was selected Best Sports Competition of the Year.
The awards ceremony held at Baku Olympic Stadium and winner of Beijing Olympic Games in judo Elnur Mammadli presented the award to AFFA Executive Vice President Elkhan Mammadov.
In other nominations, FC Qarabag was named Team of the Year as well as member of Azerbaijan National team and FC Neftchi Emin Mahmudov was selected Player of the Year. Abdullah Zubir, a member of FC Qarabag was awarded as Foreign Player of the Year. FC Qarabag head coach Gurban Gurbanov was voted Coach of the Year.
