FM: Moldova - Azerbaijan: Coaches’ opinions
Gianni De Biasi (Azerbaijan national team coach): “We played 3 friendly matches during the training camp. Although we won one game, we lost the other two. To concede a goal early at the beginning of the game ruined our plans. We conceded it from a standard situation. We fought to the end. It turned out to be the end of the season. Some players were tired. Before the game, I commissioned the team to be more careful during standard situations, because there are three tall players in the opponent’s defend. Nevertheless, the goal was scored by the forward. We have a lot to learn from this game. During the match against Belarus six players who came to the pitch later improved the quality of the game. Today, we couldn’t do it and get the same results. Although 64 percent of possession was on our side. We tried to take many shots. To be honest, there was a lack of quality. We made mistakes, especially during transmissions. We need to improve and evaluate some situations better”.

Roberto Bordin (Moldova national team coach): “The match was interesting. A part of the game was controlled by Azerbaijan and another part by my team. We really needed this victory. Members of the Neftchi team, which I used to work with before, were more active today. In general, Azerbaijan team made a good impression in the game”.
