UEFA EURO 2020: Information on the matches to be held in Baku

Due to the World Health Organization to declare the coronavirus epidemic a global pandemic on March 12, 2020, at the meeting of the UEFA Executive Committee on March 17, 2020, it was decided to postpone UEFA EURO 2020 by a year and propose it take place from June 11 to July 11, 2021.

In addition, UEFA's decision states that due to the pandemic the local governments and state structures will make the decision on the number and procedure of admission of fans to the venues of the UEFA EURO 2020 matches. Based on the above mentioned, at the joint meeting of the Operational Headquarters under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the UEFA EURO 2020 LOC, it has been decided that up to 50 percent of the total capacity of the Baku Olympic Stadium can be attended by fans during each of the four matches in Baku by providing the relevant procedures related to COVID-19 taking into account the recommendations of UEFA and the current pandemic situation in Baku. The decision will apply not only to local fans, but also to citizens of the countries to which national teams participate in the matches (provided the relevant requirements for visas and coronaviruses are met). All necessary information on the matter has been submitted to UEFA. The public will be informed in more detail in the near future about the procedures to be applied for fans to watch the UEFA EURO 2020 matches in Baku at the stadium.
