Veteran football players who have preserved the honor of the national team of Azerbaijan for many years and ended their professional careers in 2023 were awarded.
Before the Azerbaijan-Sweden match held at the Republic Stadium named after Tofig Bahramov within the qualifying round of EURO-2024, Rahid Amirguliyev, Elvin Mammadov, Afran Ismayilov, Rauf Aliyev and Ruslan Abishov, who did not participate in the event for a valid reason, as well as Richard Almeida, who ended his national team career, but continues to play at the club level were awarded by the Minister of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Azerbaijan Farid Gayibov and General Secretary of AFFA Sarkhan Hajiyev for their services in the country's football. They were symbolically presented with a gold-framed Azerbaijani national team uniform and a special gift.
