Björn Kuipers, a member of UEFA Referees Committee, who is visiting Baku at the invitation of AFFA, held a seminar for referees in Azerbaijan today.
At the opening ceremony, Chairman of AFFA Referees Committee Frank De Bleecker greeted the participants. AFFA Executive Vice President Sarkhan Hajiyev said that Azerbaijan has a school of refereeing with a great tradition. S. Hajiyev recalled that this year marks the 100th anniversary of the famous referee Tofig Bahramov. He added that the brilliant career of the late referee should be an example for young referees.
Björn Kuipers shared his experience in leadership and match refereeing, as well as communication, during the seminar. He answered questions from Azerbaijani referees on various topics.
The closing ceremony took place after the presentation emblems to the referees and assistant referees who will serve as FIFA referees in 2025. AFFA officials expressed their gratitude to Björn Kuipers for his visiting to Baku and conducting a seminar for the referees in Azerbaijan.
The Dutch guest was presented with the shirt of Azerbaijan national team numbered 73, his birth date.
After the event, a briefing was organized for media representatives.
