A football festival for girls aged 8-10 was organized in Lankaran within the framework of the FIFA Women’s Development Programme organized by AFFA and supported by FIFA. 63 girls participated in the event held at Lankaran Olympic Sports Complex.
Simple football training, relay games and fun activities were organized for the participants. A photo zone was also created with the players of the Women’s national team. The coaches showed the basic rules of behavior with the ball. The girls had fun and had the opportunity to develop their football skills.
The event was attended by Orkhan Hasanov, Advisor to AFFA General Secretary, Zumrud Agayeva, Head of AFFA Women's Football Department, staff members of the association, coaches and players of the women's national teams. Medina Jurugova, a member of the Women’s national team, was elected the young ambassador of the festival.
The participants were provided with sportswear, balls and jackets by AFFA.
It is planned to hold such festivals continuously in the future. The main goal of organizing the project is to promote a healthy lifestyle among girls, increase interest in football, and prepare them for leagues and national teams in the future.
