On September 18, a presentation on the new format of the 2026/2027 AFFA Regional League season was held with the participation of AFFA Secretary General Jahangir Farajullayev.
The event was attended by association officials, as well as presidents and representatives of the Regional Football Federations.
The main purpose of the meeting was to present the new format of the 2026/2027 AFFA Regional League season and discuss the objectives for the upcoming season. In his opening remarks, AFFA Secretary General Jahangir Farajullayev emphasized that increasing the popularity of football in the regions and raising the quality of the Regional League to a new level are among AFFA’s key priorities.
This was followed by a detailed presentation on the regulations for the new season, the grouping of teams, and the competition schedule.
Following the presentation, an extensive exchange of views took place with the participation of representatives of the regional federations. The discussions focused particularly on organizational and infrastructure issues encountered in previous seasons, refereeing, and difficulties faced by clubs during the registration process. The presidents of the regional federations provided information on the current situation in their respective regions and put forward proposals aimed at ensuring the smoother and more professional organization of the tournament.
The Secretary General and other association officials stated that AFFA would continue to provide support in addressing the issues raised. It was agreed to develop a specific action plan to strengthen the material and technical resources, improve football infrastructure in the regions, and promptly address any challenges that may arise.
At the conclusion of the event, all participants were wished success in the upcoming season, and confidence was expressed that the Regional League would make a significant contribution to the development of football in the country.
