The 25th Azerbaijan Championship, organized among amateur football teams, has been completed.
Firstly, the match for the 3rd place was organized at the stadium of the Shirvan Olympic Sports Complex. Shirvan's team "Shirvan OIK" won the bronze award by defeating the Baku representative "Dirchelish" with a score of 3:2. This was followed by the competition of Mingachevir's "Ulduz" and Agjabedi's "Olimpiy" teams in the final. The match ended with the score 2:2, and the winner was determined by a series of penalties. "Olympia" (4:2), which performed these kicks more accurately, became the winner of the 2023-2024 season of the Amateur League.
Later the award ceremony was organized. Medals and diplomas were presented to the teams, and a trophy was presented to the winner of the first place. Additionally, the first, second, and third place teams received 5,000, 3,000, and 2,000 manat prizes respectively.
The awards were presented by the president of the Regional Football Federation, Isgandar Javadov, the president of the Azerbaijan Amateur Football Federation, Rufat Amirov, general secretary Fuzuli Najafov, and football veteran Asif Aliyev.
Note that the final match of the Azerbaijan Cup between amateur football teams will be held on August 11 at the Agjabedi Olympic Sports Complex.
