Ball festival in Sumgayit

 
In accordance with the UEFA Grassroots programme, Ball festival organized by AFFA together with «HYUNDAİ AUTO AZERBAİJAN» has been held in front of the “Chemist” Palace of Culture named after Uzeyir Hajibayov in Sumgayit today. Nasib Nur, a presenter of the festival kicked off the ceremony with an opening speech. He noticed that about 280 children were registered to participate in the competition and before this traditional event was took place in Baku, Ganja and Lankaran.
Then the floor was given to Vagif Aliyev, head of Executive Power of Sumgayit city, AFFA General Secretary Elkhan Mammadova and Mukhtar Babayev, a chief executive officer of «Azerkimya» Industrial Merger. The speakers noted that the main aim of this festival is to develop football for children.
Mashallah Ahmadov, a vice-president of Regional Football Federations Public Union, Musa Hasanov, head of Youth and Sport Office of Sumgayit city, Eldar Mammadov, a representative of «Azerkimya» Industrial Merger, Honoured coach of Azerbaijan Sayavush İbrahimov and Yashar Shamilov, president of North Regional Football Federation, were on jury.
Rustam Rahimov, all-USSR category referee explained the rules of the competition. Then the participants of the festival started to juggle the ball.
Eva Pasquier, FIFA Development Officer in Europe, Michele Cox, a member of FIFA Committee for Women’s Football as well as Sissy Raith, Azerbaijan Women’s U-15 head coach also attended today’s festival.
Aysel Teymurzada who represented Azerbaijan at the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest, brought some happiness to participants and spectators of the festival with her merry songs.
So, Tural Bayramli became a winner of the festival. Ramil Orujov finished in second place and Ulvi Bayramli in third place.
Narmina Ismayilova became a winner among the girls.
They all received prizes, which were presented by AFFA, “HYUNDAI AUTO AZERBAIJAN” and State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic.
