The new stadium built in Nizami, 8km region of Baku was brought to use on September 14.The President of Azerbaijan Republic Ilham Aliyev and first lady Mehriban Aliyeva participated at the opening ceremony of this stadium.
Mehriban Aliyeva, first lady of Azerbaijan, was given a bunch of flowers. President Ilham Aliyev cut the ribbon which was the symbol of opening.
AFFA President Rovnag Abdullayev gave information to our president when he was acquainted with the stadium that construction began here on May, 2010.
Total area of this stadium is 22.500 square meter and it is provided with the modern equipments.
President Ilham Aliyev was given the book “Azərbaycan futbolu-100” (Football of Azerbaijan-100), which talk about 100 years path of development of Azerbaijan football. Then our president was acquainted with the condition of the football pitch.
