The ordinary meeting of AFFA Executive Committee was held at SOCAR Headquarters on March 14, 2025.
AFFA President Rovshan Najaf provided information about the agenda of the meeting. Then, the issues on the agenda were discussed.
First, AFFA General Secretary Jahangir Farajullayev and Professional Football League Technical and Sports Director Elgiz Abbasov provided information about the infrastructure, material and technical base of the clubs that are candidates to promote to the Premier League for the season 2025-2026, and the current shortcomings in the stadiums.
The AFFA Executive Committee has granted a 1-year grace period to clubs that will be promoted to the Premier League in connection with the increase in the number of teams in the season 2025-2026 of Azerbaijan Premier League to eliminate shortcomings in infrastructure, administrative and other areas. This special rule will apply only to teams that will be promoted to the Premier League this year.
Later, AFFA General Secretary Jahangir Farajullayev provided information on the candidates for the post of head coach of Azerbaijan national teams in the lower age groups. Aykhan Abbasov was appointed as a head coach of Azerbaijan Under-21 team after signing a two-year contract with him.
The below listed coaches have been appointed as head coaches of the national teams consisting of the corresponding age groups:
Elkhan Abdullayev - Azerbaijan Under-19
Ilham Yadullayev - Azerbaijan Under -18 (born in 2008)
Agil Nabiyev - Azerbaijan Under -17 (born in 2009)
Each of them has a contract until the end of 2025.
The Executive Committee also set the date for the next AFFA Reporting Conference. The next AFFA Reporting Conference will be held on April 11, 2025.
In addition, the Committee approved Elchin Mammadov's voluntary resignation from his position in AFFA Disciplinary Committee.
