FC Qarabag has achieved another success in the history of Azerbaijani football. The Aghdam’s club has gone down in history as the first Azerbaijani club to reach the UEFA Champions League play-offs.
The champion of Azerbaijan faced the English club Liverpool in the last - the League phase Matchday 8. The hosts won the match 6-0 at Anfield Road stadium.
Thus, Qarabag finished the League phase in 22nd place with 10 points and qualified for the play-offs. The draw for this stage will be held on January 30. The potential opponents of Qarabag are PSG (France) and Newcastle (England). The matches for the 1/8 finals to be played on February 17-18 and 24-25.
