Head coach of Azerbaijan national team Aykhan Abbasov assessed the draw for the 2026/2027 UEFA Nations League season in his statement to the AFFA press service:
“Our opponents are known, good luck to our team. We met all our potential opponents, watched their matches. Of course, our main goal is to return to League C. Friendly matches are coming up. We will have the opportunity to watch the players in those games and determine the squad. I believe that we will return to League C.”
Note that Azerbaijan national team will play against Lithuania and Liechtenstein in Group 2 of League D2. The new season in the UEFA Nations League will start in September.
