Head coach of Azerbaijan Under-21 team Rashad Eyyubov expressed his thoughts after the draw match 0-0 against Bulgaria in Plovdiv within the UEFA Under-21 Championship qualifying round:
“Our team played more actively in this match. The players clearly demonstrated what they are capable of on the pitch today. They were not afraid of either the opponent or the atmosphere in the stadium. We played very well in the first half, and we had control of the ball for the most time. After the break, the opponent's pressure increased. I think a draw is a fair result. There were dangerous moments from both teams. Overall, I saw positive moments in my team's performance. With such a foundation, we can look positively to the future.”
Note that the Azerbaijan U-21 team will play the next group match at home against Czechia on September 25.
