A football game was played within the New Horizon – Empowering Youth Deprived of Parental Care through Increasing Their Employability Project, implemented with the financial support of SOCAR Midstream Gas Operations and its partners in the South Caucasus Pipeline.
In addition to vocational training, various additional activities are carried out within the project to support the socio-psychological well-being of young people, develop team spirit, promote a healthy lifestyle, and effectively organize their leisure time. Football games were also one of the social development activities organized in this direction.
The event was supported by AFFA Social and Environmental Sustainability Department as a partner. AFFA provided participants with football uniforms and allocated a field for the game. After the match, the winning team was presented with awards by Gara Garayev, a well-known football player and analyst for Azerbaijan U-21 national team.
Note that the 10-month-long New Horizon Project covers 80 young people aged 15-18 living in boarding schools and children's institutions in Baku, who have lost their parents or are deprived of parental care.
