FC Sabah, Azerbaijan’s representative in the UEFA Champions League, played the first-leg match of the season 2026/2027. The club from Baku hosted the Welsh team, The New Saints, within the first qualifying round.
The match took played at Bank Respublika Arena and ended for the Azerbaijani champions 2-0. Veljko Simić scored in the 66th minute, and Kaheem Parris scored in the 84th minute for FC Sabah.
The second-leg match between the two teams will take place in Wales on July 14.
