FC Zira, Azerbaijan's representative in the UEFA Europa Conference League, played the first match of the season 2026/2027. The club from Baku hosted the Georgian football team Torpedo (Kutaisi) within the first qualifying round.
In the game at SOCAR Polymer Arena in Sumgayit, Rashad Sadygov's team secured a resounding win 3-0.
Brazilian defender Ruan Renato scored for Zira in the 32nd and 63rd minutes by a penalty. The other goal was scored by Georgian player Davit Volkov in the 47th minute.
The second-leg match between the two teams will take place in Kutaisi on July 16.
