Azerbaijan’s representative in the UEFA Europa League, FC Qarabag, played the first match of the season 2026/2027. The Aghdam-based club hosted FC Vestri from Iceland in the first qualifying round match.
FC Qarabag secured a decisive win 3-0 in the match at Tofig Bahramov Republican Stadium. The goals for the Azerbaijani side were scored by Zakaria Sawo in the 30th minute, Abdellah Zoubir in the 45+2nd minute, and Renaldo Cephas in the 86th minute.
The second-leg match between the two teams is scheduled to take place in Reykjavik on July 16.
