Today, Zira FC played the second-leg match in the UEFA Europa League First qualifying round.
The Azerbaijani team faced the Moldovan club Sheriff at Dalgha Arena and lost 1-2. Rafael Utzig scored the goal for Zira in the 5th minute.
In the first-leg match in Tiraspol, Sheriff had won 1-0, resulting in an overall draw of 2:2. A penalty shootout was needed to determine the winner. Sheriff won with a score of 5-4 and advanced to the second qualifying round.
Zira will now compete in the UEFA Conference League and will face Dunajska Streda (Slovakia) in the second round. The first-leg game will take place on July 25 in Baku, and the second-leg match will be on August 1 away.
