Germany - Azerbaijan: Coaches’ opinions
Robert Prosinecki (Head coach of Azerbaijan national team): “It is hard to say something after this result. Nevertheless, we played well, had goal situations in the first time. So we finished one of them as a goal. The opponents showed their quality in the second time. The result might have been 6:3. My men played open game. The opponent won a decent victory. Overall, I am satisfied with the team. We played in the hard group against the strong teams. Although the result doesn’t satisfy us, we competed decently. Taking into account the match against Northern Ireland, we had to score more points. It was not easy to score 10 points in such group. It might have been more than it. I appreciate the efforts of my team.

Joachim Löw (Head coach of Germany national team): “Congratulate my players. 10 wins show that, they always keep their concentrations in a high level. Not every team can do it. The opponent doesn’t matter for us. We didn’t play well exactly, acted slowly in the first time. The team had technical mistakes. The players often passed the ball to the goalkeeper. Everyone expected great performance from us. But the youth needed time. We could do what we wanted in the second time. We played so that the goals had to be scored. The defenders were slow after the first goal. Azerbaijan was able to attack, and our players acted heavily. My men hurried for scoring a goal. They solved this problem in the second time. When the men play well in the back, the front players catch the ball better”.
