A meeting was held with the participation of the I Division clubs’ representatives at the AFFA headquarters today.
AFFA General Secretary Elkhan Mammadov, PFL President Ramin Musayev, the Executive Committee member Vagif Sadigov took part in the event. General Secretary greeted the participants, reminded the problems about the match-fixing arisen in the I Division last season, and said that some clubs, players, referees and administrative officers were exposed to the sanctions. Elkhan Mammadov expressed AFFA’s sensitiveness for this problem and informed that the problems about match-fixing will always be in the center of attention in future too.
AFFA Legal and HR Department member, UEFA representative on match-fixing in AFFA Kamran Jabrayilov talked about the match-fixing, methods of fighting with them, as well the provisions concerning these problems expressed in the Disciplinary Regulations of FIFA, UEFA and AFFA.
AFFA Appellate and Arbitral Tribunal member Vasib Akbarov informed that, there are special articles with regard to the matters of the manipulation of the sport games results in the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan Republic, if any proper information relating to the negative cases like these is included, a criminal case can be initiated, and the process will be under the control of the law enforcement agencies.
