On June 29, 2026, the next meeting of AFFA Executive Committee was held at SOCAR Headquarters.

AFFA President Rovshan Najaf provided information about the agenda of the meeting.
Then, the issues on the agenda were discussed.
First, AFFA Secretary General Jahangir Farajullayev provided general information about the FIFA U-15 World Cup and Festival 2026, which first edition entrusted to host Azerbaijan in accordance with the decision of the Bureau of FIFA Council.
Then, the results of the season 2025/2026 in the country's football were discussed. Members of the Executive Committee shared their views on the organization, the quality of the competitions and general development directions.
Then, Edmond Claus, AFFA’s new Technical Director, was introduced. He has extensive experience in youth development, academy building and management, education and methodology, as well as scouting. It was emphasized that his work in the Netherlands’ FC Ajax Academy, as well as his experience in national teams in various age groups in Netherlands and China, will make a significant contribution to his work in Azerbaijan.
AFFA Deputy Secretary General Elchin Mammadov provided information on the activities of the newly established AFFA Football Development Department and the rules for certifying academies under the 5-star model. An exchange of views was held on the rules to be applied from the next season.
Then, AFFA Secretary General Jahangir Farajullayev informed Misli Premier League clubs about the new approach to the rules for using financial assistance allocated for the development of children's and youth football under a grant agreement and the control mechanism. The issue was put to the vote and adopted by the Executive Committee.
The meeting also discussed the proposed new format for Elite Training Project. Based on the notes of the Executive Committee members, an assignment was given to improve the Project.
