According to the decision of AFFA Executive Committee dated February 3, 2025, payments were made to Misli Premier League clubs within the framework of the new incentive mechanism, which was applied for the first time in Azerbaijani football. As you know, this mechanism was created by AFFA to encourage the development of local players, strengthen the financial stability of clubs and provide additional support to the development of national football in general. According to the rules formulated by AFFA, the bonus fund was formed at the expense of the fees paid by clubs for foreign players and the funds were distributed according to the minutes played by local players in the Misli Premier League.
This incentive mechanism aims to make clubs show more trust in local and especially young players, prioritize their development and contribute to the formation of the future of Azerbaijani football.
According to the decision, a total of 2 million 560 thousand manats were paid to 12 clubs playing in the Premier League. FC Gabala, which showed the highest result in the bonus distribution, received 379 thousand 987 manats and an additional 50 thousand manats as a special award. FC Sumgayit, which is in second place on the list, earned 299 thousand 197 manats while FC Shamakhi, the third club in the list, received 267 thousand 314 manats from the fund.
In addition, AFFA has authorized the retention of 1 million 500 thousand manats of the funds collected by AFFA in the budget of the Professional Football League.
In accordance with the agreement between AFFA and the Professional Football League on the organization and holding of the championship, AFFA has authorized the inclusion of funds generated from financial sanctions imposed by AFFA Disciplinary Committee, as well as fees determined for foreign football players, in the budget of the Professional Football League.
Considering that the incentive mechanism has a positive impact on the development of local football players, the activities of clubs and Azerbaijani football in general, it is planned to continue the project in the next season.
