A memorial tournament was organized on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the birth of legendary football player Anatoliy Banishevskiy, jointly organized by AFFA and Baku Village Football Federation.
Six teams from the villages and settlements of Baku competed in the tournament organized among children under 14. In the final match at Dalga Training Center, “Bina” defeated “Ateshgah” (Surakhani) 4-0 and became the winner of the tournament. “Ateshgah” took second place.
An award ceremony took place after the final match. The winners and prize-winners were awarded a trophy, medals and diplomas. The trophy was presented to the winning team by head of AFFA Grassroots Department, former player Farrukh Ismayilov and a president of Baku Villages Football Federation Vagif Davudov.
The main purpose of the tournament is to commemorate the memory of the late Anatoliy Banishevskiy, one of the brightest figures of Azerbaijani football, as well as to increase the popularity of football among children and support the discovery of talented football players.
