The football tournament dedicated to the 103rd anniversary of the birth of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev, jointly organized by the Association of Football Federations of Azerbaijan (AFFA) and the Student Trade Union Committee of Baku State University (BSU) within the framework of UEFA Hat-Trick Programme, has concluded.
The tournament held between the student teams representing different faculties of BSU was of great importance in terms of revitalizing intra-university sports life and promoting a healthy lifestyle among students. The decisive games of the competition took place on the football pitch of Baku State University.
In the third-place match, the team of the Faculty of International Relations and Economics defeated the team of the Faculty of Applied Mathematics and Cybernetics 5-1 and became the bronze medalist. In the final match, the team of the Faculty of History defeated the team of the Faculty of Law 1-0 and became the winner of the tournament.
In the end, the champion was awarded a trophy by AFFA, and the teams that took the first three places were awarded with corresponding medals and diplomas. In addition, participants who distinguished themselves with their individual indicators during the competition were awarded special prizes in various nominations.
The award ceremony was attended by Head of AFFA Grassroots Football Department, Farrukh Ismayilov, and the Vice-Rector for Social Affairs, Student Affairs and Public Relations of Baku State University, Alish Aghamirzayev. They congratulated the champion and award-winning teams and presented them with trophies and awards.
Note that AFFA and BSU plan to implement joint projects in this direction in the future.
