The training camp, which was planned to be held in Malta from March 23 to March 31, as part of the preparations for the friendly matches against Liechtenstein on March 26 and the Malta national team on March 30 have been cancelled due to recently widespread of coronavirus (COVID-19) infection in different countries of the world, assessment of the situation as a pandemic by the World Health Organization, refusal of flights from several European countries (Germany, France, Spain, Switzerland) by Malta, risk of travel (virus-related) of foreign players invited to the national team of Azerbaijan, and for the prevention the possibility of infection of team members and delegation.
In this regard, the AFFA has informed the UEFA, Malta, and Liechtenstein football federations accordingly.
