Azerbaijan Women's national football team has started the competition in the qualifying round of the 2027 FIFA Women's World Cup.

Azerbaijan in League C, Group C3 played the first match against North Macedonia. Nigar Mirzaliyeva and Sevinj Jafarzada, who have played 50 matches for Azerbaijan Women's national team, were given the official national team uniform as a souvenir on behalf of AFFA before the match. The gifts were presented to the jubilarians by AFFA Secretary General Jahangir Farajullayev and Minister of Youth and Sports Farid Gayibov.
The match at Dalga Arena ended for Azerbaijan 2-0. Both goals for Azerbaijan were scored by captain Sevinj Jafarzada.
