The head coach of the women's national team of Azerbaijan, who has completed a training camp in Turkey and played two friendly matches with the Turkish national team in preparation, Siyasat Asgarov shared his views with affa.az:
“We started the training camp on June 18. During the training camp we had two trainings a day and played two international friendly matches. Though our team was tired, they did not play badly in the first match we played with Turkey on June 25. We struggled hard, especially in the first half. But as I said, after the break, road fatigue showed itself, and as a result we lost with a score of 0:2. Our second game against the Turkish national team was better. Despite being behind in the score, we managed to get together, even scored 2 goals and changed the score in our favor. Unfortunately, in the last minutes we missed the ball from the penalty spot. I think the result was not due to the game. We could not use the opportunities we created in both parts. The main purpose of this training camp and friendly matches is to better prepare for the official games in September. I believe that we will see the beneficial result of this training camp in future games”.
