Head coach of Azerbaijan Women's national football team, Siyasat Asgarov, expressed his thoughts to the AFFA press service after the friendly match against Kazakhstan (1-0) played at Shymkent city stadium:
“The games against Kazakhstan were very important for us. Because we did not finish our last matches on a very good note. Therefore, winning was of great importance to increase the motivation of the players. We are happy that we managed to do this in both matches. We could have won the first match by a larger margin. It seems that after that game the opponent analyzed us very well. We faced difficulties today. I think that the fact that our players were not fully recovered for the second match also played a role. Nevertheless, the girls showed character and fought until the end and scored the winning goal. For that, I would like to thank my team. I would like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude to the Kazakhstan Football Federation. The training camp was held at a beautiful location and all the necessary conditions were created for us.”
Note that Azerbaijan Women's national team won the first friendly match against Kazakhstan 2-1.
