The opening ceremony of the football pitch built at the secondary school No. 247 within the FIFA Arena Project was held. The event was attended by AFFA President Rovshan Najaf, Minister of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan Emin Amrullayev, President of the Ukrainian Association of Football Andriy Shevchenko, officials from AFFA, FIFA, the Ministry of Science and Education, representatives of the football community and schoolchildren.
Rovshan Najaf, Emin Amrullayev and Andriy Shevchenko spoke about the importance of the Project. FIFA President Gianni Infantino also congratulated the successful implementation of the project via a video message.
Note that AFFA is among the first 11 countries in the world to complete the FIFA Arena Project. The national association has built two pitches in two schools, and more than 6,000 students will directly benefit from this Project.
As the FIFA President noted in his video message, AFFA has completed a significant project that will provide children with access to safe spaces to promote education and football.
Azerbaijan is a country with a great passion for football. Children need opportunities to play and develop. In short, such projects do not only serve to build pitches, but also to create opportunities for all boys and girls.
