A special night was organized for Euro 2020 volunteers (photos)

AFFA has started the registration process of volunteers since June 2019. 6797 volunteer candidates were registered within 5 months. According to the number of applications, the Baku has the highest rate among the 12 cities to host the European Championship. Face to face interviews were held with more than 6,000 candidates. A special night was held at the "Electra Events Hall" today for volunteers who will be participating in these games. The event was attended by AFFA President Rovnag Abdullayev, Minister of Youth and Sports Azad Rahimov, AFFA Secretary General Elkhan Mammadov, Ambassador of the Euro 2020 Games in Baku Veli Gasimov, Volunteer Program Ambassador Taleh Yuzbeyov. During the speeches, President Ilham Aliyev"s declaration about  2020 as the "Year of Volunteers" in Azerbaijan to stimulate the personal development of young people, increase their sense of social responsibility, and effectively use the potential of youth for the welfare of the people and sustainable development of our country was specially mentioned. Rovnag Abdullayev and Azad Rahimov highlighted the importance of volunteer activities and volunteers who are giving a new life to Euro 2020 with their creativity, initiative, innovative thinking and modern outlook in their speeches. After the speeches, Rovnag Abdullayev, Azad Rahimov, and Elkhan Mammadov presented awards to the ambassadors of Euro 2020 Baku Veli Gasimov, as well as Taleh Yuzbeyov, ambassador of Baku Volunteer Program, for their support and activities in the country's important sports event. At the same time, four most active volunteers were awarded gifts. The surprise guest of the night, which was attended by more than 1,500 volunteers, was the favorite singer Dilara Kazimova. Then the night continued with a fun program.
