"Everything is possible in football" ‘

A National Team published on: 09.06.2022 print
Below are the opinions of head coach Gianni De Biasi and team member Emin Mahmudov at a press conference on the eve of tomorrow's Azerbaijan-Slovakia match in the UEFA Nations League at “Dalga Arena”:
"Everything is possible in football" ‘
Gianni De Biasi: We played a better game than our opponents in the matches with Kazakhstan and Belarus, we demonstrated a quality game. Unfortunately, we still could not score a goal. Though we had a lot of opportunities. We are disappointed with this factor. Whatever did not happen today in football will happen someday for sure. Tomorrow we will have a hard game. We did not expect Kazakhstan to defeat Slovakia. We will do our best to get a victory tomorrow.
It is normal to be criticized. This is your and professionals’ work. Everyone does their job. I do not intend to analyze too deep. But no one can say that we performed badly in the last two matches. You lose in football today, everyone condemns you. But as soon as you win, they praise you. We look at the statistics, now we can talk about two victories. Everything is possible in football.
The national team of Slovakia is the strongest team of our group. Most of the players play in Italy and England and are of high quality. We analyzed their games. There were many scoring opportunities in the game with Kazakhstan, but they could not use them. Kazakhstan struggled to the end with 11 people. We have to play like this tomorrow and finish the game with 11 people. We must not make unnecessary. We should not make unnecessary violations ".

Emin Mahmudov: “We do not have the right to appear on the field comfortably. We must play with all our might, do our best to win. We could not win the first two games. This time we will try to get a successful result.
Sometimes there is bad luck, sometimes the opponent's goalkeepers make a good escape. Some episodes also lack accuracy. Either the final blow or the pass is not accurate enough to complete the attack with a goal. It does not matter whether the Slovak national team wins or loses in Baku. They will do their best to win. They will play under the leadership of their new head coach. But we will do our best to win”.
