A football festival for girls aged 8-10 was implemented in Fuzuli within the framework of the FIFA Women’s Development Programme organized by AFFA and supported by FIFA. 62 girls were involved in the event, which took place at Mirza Ulugbey Secondary School No. 1 in Fuzuli.
As part of the event, simple football drills, relay games, and fun activities were organized for the girls. A photo zone with the national team players was also created, and the coaches showed the basic rules of behavior with a ball to promote safety, respect, and skill development, emphasizing that the ball is a tool for learning and fun. The girls had fun and had the opportunity to develop their football skills.
Zumrud Aghayeva, Head of AFFA Women's Football Department, coaches of Azerbaijan Women's national team, players and association representatives attended the event. National team member Medina Jurugova was elected the young ambassador of the festival.
The participants were provided with sportswear, balls and jackets by AFFA.
It is planned to organize such festivals continuously in the future. The main goal of organizing the project is to promote a healthy lifestyle among girls, increase interest in football, and prepare them for leagues and national teams in the future.
