Below are the opinions expressed by the head coach of our national team, Gianni De Biasi, at the press conference organized after the North Macedonia-Azerbaijan international friendly match held today in "Todor Proeski National Arena" in Skopje:
"Unfortunately, we did not play well in the first 15 minutes. I never wanted my team to play this kind of football. We could not play well with the ball, we hit the ball wherever it came. We conceded an unexpected goal. Then we were able to react well and stand out. The fact that the opponent was in the minority made our job a little easier and we scored the second goal. The North Macedonian national team also had a chance to score two goals.
I always said that we need some time for some things to happen. I have always asked my players to play on the ground, play more with the ball and create difficulties for the opponent. We are winning five games in a row. It is a historic result for Azerbaijan. For the first time, we won against North Macedonia. It was an important test for us before the qualifying matches of the 2024 EC."
