Head coach of Azerbaijan Under-21 team, Rashad Eyyubov, expressed his views to the AFFA press service regarding the match against Gibraltar within the UEFA Under-21 Championship qualifying round.
Eyyubov said he was satisfied with the team's preparation for the match: “We had a useful preparation. We talked with the players about both the psychological side of the game and tactical issues. Overall, I am satisfied with the children's focus on the match and their preparations during the training period. In addition, we have also attracted Sattar Tahirzada to the team. I hope he will have the opportunity to make his debut.”
Head coach emphasized that despite playing away, they will go out on the field to win: “We are facing a motivated opponent. I am sure that they will show all their strength in this match. The players know my attitude on this issue well. We may be stronger than the opponent in some aspects or, conversely, appear weaker in certain aspects. But regardless of the identity of the opponent, absolutely no team should expect us to win more than we do.”
The match Gibraltar vs Azerbaijan to be played at Europa Point Stadium on November 18 and to kick off at 22:00 Baku time.
