According to the changes approved during the 74th FIFA Congress, it was decided to restructure the FIFA Standing Committees. The aim of this decision is to ensure the participation of more member associations in decision-making processes, given FIFA's increasing level of activity and responsibility on a global scale.
Following the last meeting of FIFA Council, a chairpersons, deputy chairpersons and members of FIFA Standing Committees were appointed for the period 2025-2029.
According to the decision taken by the Council, AFFA President Rovshan Najaf was appointed as a member of FIFA Commercial and Marketing Advisory Committee for the period 2025-2029.
AFFA Vice-President Konul Mehdiyeva was elected a member of the Women's Football Development Committee.
The new appointments are aimed at ensuring greater participation and gender balance in international football governance, as part of FIFA renewed governance model.
