AFFA continues to organize educational webinars aimed at enhancing the knowledge and skills of professionals working in the field of football.
As part of this webinar series, an online training session was held on the topic Assessing Physical Performance through Testing. Nearly 40 physical conditioning coaches, physical education teachers, and academy representatives participated in the session.
A webinar conducted by Turjay Ahmadov, a physical conditioning expert from AFFA Football Development Department, provided information on the purpose of physical performance tests, the proper selection and administration of these tests, and the application of results within the training process.
During the webinar, tests used to assess speed, endurance, explosive power, agility, coordination, and anthropometric metrics were presented. Particular attention has been paid to the selection of tests appropriate for different age groups, conducting measurements based on standardized protocols, and ensuring the reliability and validity of the results.
It was noted that tests should be selected based on the players’ age and stage of physical development, and that the results obtained should be used not merely for data collection, but to monitor player development and refine training programs.
During the interactive webinar, participants discussed various practical scenarios and completed tasks related to selecting appropriate tests for different age groups. The session concluded with a Q&A segment.
AFFA continues to create new opportunities for learning and knowledge exchange for coaches and academy heads.
