Agil Nabiyev, head coach of Azerbaijan Under-16 team, expressed his views on the preparations for the III CIS Games to be held in Gabala.
Head coach told the AFFA press service that their goal is to finish the tournament as winners:
“We have been with the team for two days now. Earlier this month, we had a training camp, a friendly match against Georgia. Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan are in our group at the CIS Games and they are quality teams. They are aggressive, they like to run a lot on the pitch, they like to fight. Nevertheless, our goal will be to prepare well and win both matches. The tournament will be held in our homeland. We want to make our people happy with wins and championships. Our strength and potential are enough for this. We were unable to invite several players due to injuries. New players have been recruited to the team instead. Our goal is to reach the final and win the trophy. I believe we will achieve our dream.”
Note that Azerbaijan Under-16 team in Group A will play against Tajikistan on September 27 and Kyrgyzstan on October 1. The team that will take first place in Group will advance to the final match on October 4.
