Azerbaijani Under-16 team played the final match within the III CIS Games held in Gabala.
Azerbaijan faced Russian Under-16 team in the decisive game. The match at Gabala city stadium ended for the visiting team 3-2. Both goals for Azerbaijan were scored by Ali Bashirov (46th and 67th minutes).
Thus, Russia became the winner of the III CIS Games, while Azerbaijan won the silver medals. Belarus beat Tajikistan 2-0 in the third place match and earned the bronze medals of the tournament.
Note that Azerbaijan defeated Tajikistan 1-0 and Kyrgyzstan 4-0 in the group matches.
