The Azerbaijan U-16 national team has held its first training session at the Hovsan Competition Complex, built for the FIFA U-15 World Cup and Festival.
Before the training session, Azerbaijan senior national team head coach Aykhan Abbasov met with the young players and coaching staff to wish them success in the tournament.
“You are very fortunate to have earned the right to participate in a World Cup at the age of 15. This will remain an unforgettable memory throughout your careers. We have great confidence in you,” Aykhan Abbasov said.
He then watched the team’s training session.
Azerbaijan will play its first match of the tournament against Timor-Leste on October 24 at 19:30 at Crystal Hall. The team’s other opponents in the group stage will be Andorra, Australia, Israel and Haiti.
