Konul Mehtiyeva, vice-president of AFFA and head of International Relations Department of AFFA, has been assigned by UEFA to the final round of the European Championship that will be held in Germany this year.
Thus, for the first time, a representative of Azerbaijan was appointed to such a prestigious tournament. Konul Mehdiyeva will represent UEFA in five games of EURO 2024, which will be held in Frankfurt from June 17 to July 1.
She will control the group stage matches between Belgium and Slovakia on June 17, Denmark and England on the 20th, Switzerland and Germany on the 23rd, Slovakia and Romania on the 26th, and the 1/8 final match on July 1.
We should mention that the UEFA Representative is the highest match official appointed for games and tournaments held by the continental football body. The representative has full authority over all aspects of the organization of the games, and is responsible for ensuring the orderly organization of the match or tournament, as well as maintaining discipline and security before, during and after the game, both inside and outside the stadium.
