There have been changes in the squad of Azerbaijan national team. Midfielders Khayal Aliyev and Shahin Shahniyarov have joined the squad of Azerbaijan Under-21 team. Instead of them, Rustam Ahmadzada (Sumgayit) and Abdulla Khaybulayev (Sabah) have been called up to the A national team.
Note that on September 9, Azerbaijan national team will play against Ukraine within the 2026 World Cup European qualifiers while Azerbaijan Under-21 team will host Bulgaria within the UEFA Under-21 Championship qualifying round.
