Azerbaijan’s representative in the UEFA Europa Conference League, FC Qarabag, played the second-leg match within the third qualifying round. The Aghdam club hosted the Ukrainian club Dynamo Kyiv.
After losing the first-leg match 0-1 in Lublin, Qarabag defeated their opponent 2-0 in the second-leg match at Tofiq Bahramov Republican Stadium. Jali Muaddib (12th minute) and Aleksey Kashuk (69th minute) scored the goals for the Azerbaijani side.
Thus, Qarabag has advanced to the play-off round. The opponent for Gurban Gurbanov's squad in this round will be the winner of the tie between Dunajská Streda (Slovakia) and Twente (Netherlands). Twente won the first-leg match in Netherlands 6-0.
The UEFA Europa Conference League play-off matches will take place on August 20 and 27. FC Qarabag will play the first-leg match away.
