The mini-football tournament for the season 2025/2026 Football Lessons in Schools Project, organized by AFFA and supported by UEFA and the Ministry of Science and Education, has concluded. A total of 20 school teams representing Baku and Sumgait competed in the tournament.

In the third place match, the team of school number 11 representing Sumgayit defeated the team of school number 307 and became the bronze medalist of the tournament.
In the final match, the team of school number 299 faced the team of Elitar Gymnasium. Since the winner was not determined after full time, the winner of the game was decided in a penalty shootout. The team of school number 299, which played more accurately, surpassed the opponent and became the winner of the tournament. The team of Elitar Gymnasium took second place.
At the award ceremony, the winning team was awarded a trophy by AFFA, and the teams that took the first three places were presented with corresponding medals.
In addition, the participants who distinguished themselves throughout the competition were awarded various individual nominations. Inji Huseynli, a member of the Elite Gymnasium, was named the best player of the final match. Suleyman Valiyev, who played for the team of school number 299, was awarded as best goalkeeper of the tournament. Nihat Eminli, a player from school number 11, was named the best football player of the tournament.
The awards and the trophy for the winning team were presented by Farrukh Ismayilov, Head of AFFA Grassroots Football Department. He congratulated the participants on their successful performance and emphasized the importance of such competitions, which serve the development of football among schoolchildren.
It should be noted that the Football Lessons in Schools project is implemented with the aim of increasing the popularity of football among schoolchildren, promoting a healthy lifestyle, as well as forming values ​​such as teamwork, responsibility and mutual respect in children.
