The final match of the season 2024/2025 in Azerbaijan Cup was held. The teams FC Qarabag and FC Sabah met in the decisive match held at Sumgayit city stadium named after Mehdi Huseynzadea.
The Baku representative defeated the opponent 3-2 and became the winner of the country's cup for the first time in its history. The goals for FC Sabah were scored by Pavol Safranko in the 36th minute, Kahim Parris in the 90+5th minute and Tellur Mutallimov in the 120th minute. In the squad of FC Qarabag, Kadi Borges scored in the 45+2nd minute, as well John Irasabal scored an own goal in the 68th minute.
After the match, FC Qarabag was awarded with silver medals, while FC Sabah was presented gold medals. The award ceremony was attended by AFFA President Rovshan Najaf, General Secretary Jahangir Farajullayev and Technical and Sports Director of the Professional Football League Elgiz Abbasov. At the end of the ceremony, the trophy was presented to FC Sabah by AFFA President Rovshan Najaf.
