Naib Asadov, Head of AFFA Compliance and Match Fixing Department and UEFA Match Fixing Officer, held an educational session on match fixing for Azerbaijan Under-17 team.
The session took place at AFFA National Teams Training Center based on the format set out in the UEFA competitions regulations.
At the beginning of the session, a short question-and-answer session was held to test the participants' existing knowledge. The Under-17 team members were explained the basic values of football and the principles of fair play, and were given detailed information about the concept of collusion, the nature of these actions and their possible consequences. Discussions were held on real events, and statistical indicators and video clips were shown.
The following topics were also explained during the session:
∙ Betting activities and the risks of illegal actions,
∙ Sanctions and their application mechanism,
∙ The essence of the changes made to AFFA Disciplinary Code for the 2025/2026 football season regarding match-fixing.
At the end of the event, the players asked questions related to the topic and were answered by the instructor.
AFFA will continue its activities aimed at educating young players and promoting the principles of fair play and transparency.
