“Qarabag” Football Club qualified for the UEFA Champions League group stage. 

The next XXVIII Conference of the Association of Football Federations of Azerbaijan was held on January 28 at the “Boulevard Hotel”.
Elkhan Mammadov said that 12 candidates were nominated for 12 seats in the Executive Committee. According to the Regulation, the election to the Executive Committee was also held by open voting, and the following persons were elected members of the AFFA Executive Committee:

The representatives of the national team of Wales, who will play against Turkey and Switzerland in Group A of Euro 2020 at Baku Olympic Stadium, are in Baku.

The delegation, which includes head coach Ryan Giggs, Media and Marketing Manager Ian Gwyn Hughes, Chief of the Security Department Grant Ashton Briggs, and kit manager David Tudor Griffiths, will review the hotels and stadiums, and become familiar with the infrastructure.
AFFA Executive Vice President Elkhan Mammadov has met with the head coach of the national team of Wales Ryan Giggs. The sides exchanged views on Euro 2020 matches to be held in Baku and expressed confidence that the matches will be organized at a high level.
It should be reminded that Elkhan Mammadov also met with the coach of Turkish national team Senol Gunes who visited Baku.

The Azerbaijan national team will compete in Group A together with the national teams of Portugal, Serbia, Ireland and Luxembourg in the qualifying round of the World Cup in Qatar in 2022

Today Czech Republic and Denmark national teams met within the Euro 2020 quarter final game at Baku Olympic Stadium.
AFFA Executive Vice President Elkhan Mammadov met with President of the Czech Republic Football Association Peter Fousek and President of Denmark Football Association Jesper Moller before the match and wished success to the both teams. 
Remind, the Czech Republic – Denmark match ended in a 2:1 win of the nominal guest.

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva have attended the opening of the Shamakhi city stadium.
AFFA Executive Vice-President Elkhan Mammadov informed the head of state and the First Lady of the work done.
The Shamakhi city stadium at a capacity of 2,200 fans will receive a UEFA category two certificate.
President Ilham Aliyev scored goals at the stadium.
